The artist distinctly remembers painting this scene from his p/u truck outside the Coast Guard residence atop First Cliff. It was very breezy as he attempted to work, painting with one hand while struggling to secure the canvas to the easel with the other hand. Scituate Light can be seen in the background on the other side of the harbor.
