While painting one morning in his home studio, the artist took a break to do a quick on site watercolor of this lovely setting. When approaching completion, he was nearly trampled by a bolting deer leaping across an adjacent wooded path. He heard the deer before he saw it. It sounded like a stampeding buffalo.
